“Family reunions”
I’m not a very sociable creature, so I actually find family gatherings and any other similar social function awkward to be in.
What I do find lovely about family reunions is that you see people grow. It’s really surprising to find out that the then-toddlers on the photos in your possession have already grown into teenagers, and that the people who used to be your playmates have already gotten married. There aren’t only grandchildren, but also great-grandchildren. Without your knowing, you’ve already become an aunt. It makes you wonder how things will be like five, ten, or twenty years from now.
And I think that’s the beauty of it.
